JUNE 2013 EXCITING NEWS ...

 

We are negotiating a sales and distribution deal with Exclusive Books distributor. If all goes well our books will be availabel countrywide  in Exclusive Books, Wordsworth, Bargain Books and Leserskring. Trackeroo and the Crew is also then going to the Frankfurt Book fair in October. There after to the Bologna Book fair in Italy.

 

Interesting to note is that it was at the book fair in Bologna where Arthur Levine from Scholastic Publishers picked up the first Harry Potter book to read on the plane back to the USA. He then paid an enormous amount to the British Publisher to get the rights for the book in the USA. This unusually high amount caught media attention and the buzz started that made Harry Potter a phenomena.   

 

EXCITING NEWS in MAY 

 

Outreach - Eden Farming Community

 

We are talking to Lika Berning,  ambassador for the Eden Farming Community in the Western Cape about implementing the Trackeroo Project on the farms and to arrange holiday outreaches. 

 

Easy Track

 

I am thinking to develop a secondary book for struggling learners called the Easy Track. It  may contain; 

1) vocabulary list in Xhosa and Afrikaans for difficult words. Later on other languages can follow.  

2) A simplified summarized version of the story. Translations can follow.

3) Dramatized auio version which can be usefull as a radio program.

4) Graphic Novel with illustrations.

The Rotary Club bought 14 books for the kids at the Early Act Club at Ellerton to be involved in a pilot project to see how the book can be integrated with the school curriculum. It seems obvious at this stage that it can be used in the English, Library and Life Orientation class.

MUSIC VIDEO PRODUCTION underway.

LET'S HELP TO GET THE PLANET BACK ON TRACK.

100 kids from Ellerton Primary in seapoint and van Riebeeck Primary in the City Bolw Cape Town came ogether to sing Romy Jays song for Trackeroo and the Crew, which she composed and recorded. The kids samg the song and danced on Dawid's Flash mob routine with Romy's input.  Romy Dawid and Lee did a splendid job in managing the big crowd of kids singing and dancing It was great to integrate schools from predomanatly different race and cultural groups and we hope to do that more often. Watch our space at Greenpoint Stadium ...

First gift in print to the daughter of a reformed war lord in Liberia (previosuly called Genl Butt Naked. )

Engela van Tonder joins as the projects Admin and Finance Manager.

I did the final edit for the book Vol 1 in Mauritius. Thank you Peter and Anneline Bacon for the hospitality of your home in Mauritius where I stayed for three wonderful months.

​

Anthea Parks (Librarian) and children at Ellerton Primary tested the book -  read the manuscript - raving success!!!!! Much Gratitude!!! Refer to you tube ...



Romy Jay read the manuscript and fell in love with the story. She is our spectacular international star and most wonderful person from Holland - she joined the team as Music Director.

2011 Fran Le Schar agent in LA signed her to represent her for a possible animation film.

​

2011 Like Berning helped with proofreading.

​

2011 Dawid van den Bergh joined the team as Production Assistant and Art Director. After reading the final book he said; "Mom this is a World Wide Winner!!!" I was ecstatic.

14 years of working and waiting paying off.
