Dearest Earthlings,
Your planet is under siege, and the King of the Universe has commissioned us, Trackeroo and the Crew to salvage the world’s lost treasures. These treasures are needed for the earth’s survival because hidden in the treasures is a secret code; a code needed to steer the earthling race on the right track in life and the planet back on track.
To do the salvage and most secret operation we are entering the Earth via Africa through the roots of a Baobab tree and will travel across the globe to secretly drop this code into the hearts and minds of children wherever we can. They are the next generation that will make crucial choices for life, or death and they need this code to make the right choices. The code activates love and wisdom and many more treasures that the planet desperately needs. So you may wonder, how on earth (excuse the pun) are we going to do this – reach the minds and hearts of children across the world? And my answer is - easy. It’s no secret that entertainment is a mighty weapon and we are going to use this weapon to the MAX TO GRAB THE ATTENTION OF THE EARTHLING CHILDREN. Once we have their attention we do the implant painlessly, and the download happens super enjoyably. And that’s what we want because we know we are up against stiff competition. Fact is there is heaps of lose, dangerous wires floating around also looking to connect with the minds of children. Evil knows no limits and does not spare your children. The good news off course is it forces us to be smart, and fortunately some very clever, daring and caring earthlings have been assigned to help us, so we are not alone. They will provide us with all the passion, creativity, technology, knowledge, and money we need to succeed on this mission.
The next step is off course for us to track u down, the assigned earthlings, or u will track us down, to take our world wide winning story; Trackeroo and the Crew across the planet. The story will captivate the minds of children everywhere. And once our storybook hits the world’s stage we are going for the super glue of screens, animation movies and games and lots of other fun things. And please don’t worry. Your children are safe with us.
That is guaranteed.
So … if you are one of the earthlings assigned to this exciting and most worthy mission, please catch the buzz and get involved. Let us know as soon as possible if you are a chosen one. We need to get our ducks in a row, and on track… quack, quack…

Dear Earthlings
My name is Hotdog and I am a member of the famous Trackeroo and the Crew. We have been commissioned by King Leo the Lamb, King of the Universe to save the children of the world. Our mission is high-drama all the way and will keep you spellbound from beginning to end. Our story is not for the fainthearted and I suggest you fasten your seat belts when you travel with us. Our journey takes us via the Land of Honestasia to the Concrete Jungle where we need to launch a secret weapon. The secret weapon will destroy the killer bug that is threatening King Leo’s beloved Earthling children. King Leo has an arch – enemy called the Whicked Wheed who is responsible for this latest felony on earth. He is unleashing his full fury on us for the duration of the journey to stop us taking the secret weapon through to the Concrete Jungle.
Our story comes alive in episode, after episode of sheer adventure as the Whicked Wheed’s Snatchers attack us. They are a host of Robbers and Rogues led by Rulers of Mayhem and Rabble Rousing Ring leaders. The Vile Guile, the Ruler of Mayhem in the land Honestasia is unleashing his motley collection of boodlebugsmuggleluggingmuggers called Snatchers. There are Steelwolf the Stealwolf, Warhog, Slycry, Lying Lips the Lying Giant, Cheaties, Deadmeat, Satanella the Drug Witch and many more to lure us of track so they can get hold of the secret weapon ... and corrupt the secret code.
The Main Theme
The main theme is a love story. It is about the passionate love that the King of the Universe has for his beloved Earthling children. He will go to any length to save them. It is about the age-old battle between good and evil, and although hell fire and brimstone meets with us more often than not, you will find our story heart warming and humorous. We are no doubt the most adorable characters. Once you fall in love with us you won’t be able to put the book down. You will want to know what happens to us every step of the way. Many things may attack you, but not boredom. Our story is far too entertaining. It is exciting, original, funny and action packed plus it teaches wonderful values too. Dear Earthlings,
My name is FUNDISI and I want to talk to you about the TREASURES in the book.
Our book makes strong use of role models to teach values (treasures ) to your children - and guess who are the role models? We are the role models, the cartoon characters in the story that lives in Jabu City. We work well as role models because children easily believe in us, what we say and do. Our true-to-life struggles reflect the consequences of both our good and bad choices and children will learn from this. Trackeroo, runs on Value Tracks like honesty, courage, friendship, loyalty etc but go off track when Trouble Tracks like lying, blaming, selfishness, bulling and laziness replace them. Take Hotdog for example. He is a Dalmation dog and his weakness is anger. When he gets mad his black spots on his coat start flashing red, pee paw pee paw. It must be quite embarrassing for him, but it warns him to control his anger before he goes off track.
Our story is a modern parable with an ancient twist. It has been compared to the Narnia stories. Spirituality is a consistent theme running through the book – but it does not persuade the child to follow a specific path. Rather, universal values and principles are modelled.
What makes this book truly remarkable is that it doesn’t shy away from the ‘tuff’ issues that, in reality, the earthling children are facing daily – issues like, self-esteem, suicide, eating disorders, drug abuse, sophistication and crime.

My name is LUVHUG and I am a warthog. I want to invite you to have lots of fun with me in this book. Open a page at random and you’ll soon be captivated by King Leo’s scribe’s unique, bold and original style. She is witty and, at times, downright naughty, using many weird and wonderful names, not to mention the gross out factor that kids so love. The lighthearted rhyming, rollicking style belies the poignant, near-naked honest undertones that lift this book out of the morass of children’s books that just don’t hit the mark. This is the most seriously funny, or funnily serious, children’s book yet produced in south Africa by a South African for the world. Have fun!

Good Day Earthlings,
THE BIGGER PICTURE – as they say GO BIG OR GO HOME
My name is TRACKEROO and I a more than a story and a book…I am a life-skills concept with lots and lots of legs to stand on. Our story does, however, gives a solid product with which to initiate the project as a whole. It has been written with the aim of inspiring and motivating earthling children to make the right moral and behavioural choices in life (the author herself has a passion to help her own son to do this) but is never dogmatic, prescriptive or boring.
It doesn’t moralise … it mesmerises!
The main target group is Tweens, they are approximately 10 years of age, but any age can read the story and enjoy it. It is a wonderful conversational piece between parents, teachers and children.
Trackeroo was written with animation and education in mind. The writer is also a TV director and her strong audio-visual sense is an immediate presence from page 1. The book is packed with visual sequences and exciting character dialogue as well as rap songs and dance sequences.
The book has also been written in such a way as to accommodate EduTrack – an additional educational book for parents and teachers in which the main Trackeroo characters are the teachers, helping the individual child to practically apply what he’s learnt. EduTrack could also be made available as an interactive computer game.
Many different topics are touched on in the book, giving the vigilant teacher, parent or youth leader ample opportunities to discuss and explore in a safe way.

Hotdog and Flash are keen to councel children about their personal problems and we can set this facility up on the net. Kids would far better respond to cartoon characters than to adult people don’t you think.
My ultimate dream is to have a family friendly and safe play station on the net for children where all of the above and more are available.

Dear Earthlings,
My name is PIXEL the Crew’s fluffy purple spider pet. It is my privilege to talk about the author and her son. I have been created for the story by Dawid ( he is my favorite earthling crew member ) and is the author’s son. I feel gratitude towards this family for my sheer existence. If it wasn’t for them I would not be alive today.
Let me introduce you to this special family. Hermien is the author and as I said Dawid is her son.
He was six years old in the year 1999 when she wrote the first story for him and he is now almost 20 years old. During his teenagers years he was not so keen to listen to her creating stories anymore, but when he finished school she sat him down and said, “Dawid please read the full story. I need you to honestly tell me – shall we put Trackeroo in the dustbin or publish the story?” When he finished reading the book, his first words were, “Mom we have a world wide winner here! – just get the story into the hands of children.” Dawid is now a big fan and supporter of the story, and I will attach his opinion for you to read to see what he thinks. It matters because he knows every children’s book and cartoon character on the market and he knows what children like – he still watches cartoon network, which is his favorite channel other than super sport.
It took years and years for his mother to perfect the concept and story. She did not want to write something mediocre that would be here today and gone tomorrow. She also knew if she wants to impart values to children she is up against the best entertainment in the world and have to create something so special that will grab and keep the attention of children. People mocked her along the way – what happened to your book, don’t tell me you are still trying to write that story. She silently and determinedly carved away at the story for years to the point that she thought it was perfect. What drove her? – PASSION sheer PASSION. She got completely hooked on the story and the art of writing, and it became her favorite past time to create and perfect the story. It was not an easy journey for them. Hermien is the proverbial struggling single Mom and boy, what a struggle to survive it was at times. But like childbirth it is a worthwhile struggle and the baby is now born! Despite all the hardships along the way, the divorce, unemployment, retrenchments and broken hearts her love for her son and the story remained a big constant in her life.
Today we can all say yippee, yippee jay the book is finished and done!
